Hokkaido Winter Spectacular View Plan
A 7-day/6-night winter trip packed with animals, hot springs, snow experiences, and gourmet food
Day 1
Arrive at New Chitose Airport and go to Sapporo
From New Chitose Airport to Sapporo (approx. 40 minutes). Take a light stroll around Odori Park and prepare for your trip starting the next day. Start slowly, feeling the winter air of Sapporo with your whole body.
2nd day
Playing in the snow in Bibai, shiro Sunagawa, Asahikawa
In the morning, we went to Bibai Snowland. The expansive 123-hectare (about 27 times the size of the Tokyo Dome) site offers a unique experience of snow in Hokkaido. In the afternoon, we will visit shiro's main store in Sunagawa City. You can also try your hand at making your own original fragrance at the perfumery lab. In the evening, we will have dinner at a local gourmet restaurant in Asahikawa.
3rd day
Asahiyama Zoo, Asahidake and Sounkyo Ice Fall Festival
In the morning, visit Asahiyama Zoo to see the famous winter event "Penguin Walk". In the afternoon, take the ropeway to Asahidake (Mt. Asahidake) for a glimpse into the world of snowy mountains. In the evening, stay at Sounkyo Onsen and visit the fantastic Ice Fall Festival (held from late January to early March). The festival features huge ice formations lit up with lights.
Day 4
Winter Scenery of Biei and Furano, Sapporo
In Biei, we will visit the Tower of the Four Seasons, the Christmas Tree Tree, and the Shirohige Falls. In Furano, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the snowfield from the Hokuseiyama Observatory. In the evening, we will move to Sapporo to spend some time at leisure.
5th day
Ice fishing for wakasagi and chocolate experience in Tobetsu
In the morning, experience ice fishing for wakasagi (smelt), a winter tradition in the suburbs of Sapporo. Sit on the frozen lake and spend a quiet time. In the afternoon, we will visit ROYCE’ & CACAO CHOCOLATE TOWN in Tobetsu Town. You can see the process of chocolate making and buy souvenirs from Hokkaido.
Day 6
Sapporo Free Time
Spend your free time at Odori Park, Hokkaido University, Sapporo Beer Garden, etc. according to your preference. A perfect day for shopping and visiting winter cafes.
Day 7
New Chitose Airport / Return
From Sapporo to New Chitose Airport (about 40 minutes). We will return home with memories of Hokkaido's winter.
